Admission Process
When to Apply?
The Program offers annual openings for the Master’s Course (M) and biannual openings for the Doctorate Course (D, for Master’s Degree holders) and Direct Doctorate Course (DD, for non-Master’s Degree holders), selected through a selection process. Enrollments for new students are made in the first (M, D, DD) and second semester of each year (D, DD).
Application Period for the Selection Process:
For D and DD, the application periods are from May to June and from September to October, as specified in the edict.
For M, the period is from September to October, as specified in the edict.
How to Join?
Admission to the Program, for any of the courses, is regulated through the Selection Edict published in the Official Gazette and available on the Program’s website.
The Selection takes place in two stages, qualifying and elimination. For the Master’s, the first stage consists of a written test and the second stage of evaluation and questioning of the research project, and analysis of the CV Lattes.
For the Doctorate and Direct Doctorate, the first stage consists of the evaluation of the research project and CV Lattes, and the second stage of the questioning of the project.

What Do I Need to Know to Participate in the Selection Process?
The number of openings in the selection process depends on the availability of openings from the professors accredited in the program. It is necessary for an accredited advisor in the Program to review the Research Project and approve the application.
The advisor can be contacted by the interested party at any time of the year, and the list of accredited teachers is available on our website. It is recommended to seek guidance well in advance, and the Research Project should already have contributions from the possible advisor at the time of application.
The candidate must also present, at the time of application, proof of Proficiency in English, in accordance with the Program’s Regulations, with the score indicated in the respective Selection Edict.
Selected for Admission to the Doctorate Course – 2nd semester 2023
Enrollment will take place on July 4th and 5th, 2023, at the Graduate Service of IEE, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
Documentation must be presented according to the Selection Edict.

Questioning will take place on June 21st, 2023, at the time corresponding to each candidate in Room 224 – 2nd floor – Building S – IEE / USP – Av. Prof. Luciano Gualberto, 1289.
There was no approval for the Direct Doctorate.
