Scholarships and funding

Scholarships

The Postgraduate Programs at IEE have quotas for CAPES and CNPq scholarships for Master’s and Ph.D. courses, which are awarded annually based on the availability of vacant scholarships and taking into account, in addition to the criteria of Funding Agencies, the socio-economic condition of the student and their ranking in the Selection Process.

Currently, PPGE has 14 CAPES master’s scholarships and 19 doctoral scholarships, Program’s quota; plus 1 master’s scholarship and 4 doctoral scholarships from CNPq, Program’s quota; in addition to 1 master’s scholarship and 1 doctoral scholarship, CNPq, per Institutional Project. With this, the Program has a total of 16 (sixteen) master’s scholarships and 24 (twenty-four) doctoral scholarships for its students. As students complete their course or reach the end of the scholarship period (24 months for Master’s and 48 for Ph.D.), the scholarships become available and are distributed among the incoming students, considering socio-economic factors and academic merit.

There are also several other funding agencies that may offer scholarships, depending on the research topic, faculty projects, among other conditions.

Financial Aid
The Energy Graduate Program is part of the CAPES’ Program of Academic Excellence (PROEX), which provides resources to support the research of students and advisors in the development of Dissertations and Theses. There are resources available for fieldwork, participation in scientific events, support for publications, among others. The Program’s Coordinating Committee – CCP, regularly opens a Call for Applications to students to request resources. These requests are received and analyzed by the PROEX Management Committee, which directs the resources to ensure that as many students as possible receive support from the available funds.
